David Leonardi, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine. He is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Anti-Aging Medicine. For six years, Dr. Leonardi was the Medical Director of Cenegenics Medical Institute, the world's largest Age Management medical practice. Dr. Leonardi has evaluated and treated over a thousand patients with Vitality and Longevity Programs and has trained over 300 physicians in this underserved field of medicine. During his tenure at Cenegenics, Dr. Leonardi wrote an Investigational Review Board (IRB) Protocol for research in Vitality and Longevity with a major University Affiliation.

Dr. Leonardi has lectured at physician conferences throughout the United States and in Japan. He is published in various medical journals, including a study in the Journal of Anti-Aging Medicine, January 2002, on the benefits of a program of exercise, hormone management and low glycemic nutrition in healthy adults.

After graduating from Medical School in 1976, Dr. Leonardi completed his internship in Internal Medicine and Residency in Emergency Medicine. After six years of Emergency Medicine Practice, he entered the field of Family Medicine with an emphasis in Preventive Medicine. Prior to beginning his practice of Vitality and Longevity Medicine and Diabetes Management, Dr. Leonardi was the Medical Director of Horizon Specialty Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada (1992-1997).

After six years at Cenegenics (1997-2003), Dr. Leonardi moved to the beautiful state of Colorado and founded the Leonardi Medical Institute for Vitality and Longevity, serving the greater metro Denver area. He remains on the scientific advisory board of Cenegenics.

Dr. Leonardi's most recent publication is titled: Hormone Modulation, Low Glycemic Nutrition and Exercise Instruction: Effects on Disease Risk and Quality of Life: Journal of Anti-Aging Medicine, Volume 4, Number 4, 2001 (Published January 2002). Click here for the original article.

Dr. Leonardi is the author of a soon to be published book, Cycle-Makers and Cycle-Breakers®, a Program For Reversing Diabetes. He also authored the chapter on Hormone Modulation in the medical bestseller, Forever Young, by Bill Frank.

Why a book on Diabetes? Dr. Leonardi's interest in diabetes grew out of his research on aging and preventive medicine. Diabetics, due to their elevated blood sugar, age (ie; develop degenerative disease) much faster than non-diabetics. Thus the natural tie-in between diabetes and longevity medicine. Dr. Leonardi's research led to the development of a program that allows diabetics to normalize their blood sugar, completely preventing and often reversing diabetic complications. Following Dr. Leonardi's Cycle-Breakers Program, diabetics learn to maintain normal blood sugar 24 hours a day, thus eliminating diabetic complications and the increased risk of coronary disease, stroke, cancer, neuropathy, kidney disease, dementia, obesity and hypertension.

Dr. Leonardi is a professional member of the American Diabetes Association and sits on the ADA Council for Molecular, Cellular & Biochemical Aspects of Diabetes and the ADA Council for Nutritional Sciences and Metabolism.

Dr. Leonardi is an international speaker in the field of Vitality and Longevity Medicine. Speaking engagements at physician seminars include the following:
